Muso is incredibly proud to announce our official partnership with Listen Up Music.
Connecting musicians and venues is something that we believe must be done in our industry. We believe that all artists, young or old, should have the opportunity to play on a stage, and be paid for their services on time. We know that the work we do is necessary.
Listen Up Music is a charity that is tackling a problem that is even more necessary.
Listen Up Music has a long history, they have worked incredibly hard to increase mental health awareness amongst musicians. But more importantly, they focus on the healing powers of music as a combatant to mental health problems. Music is a universal language that binds and heals people. Listen Up are using that to improve lives nationwide and we’re proud to do everything we can to support them.
Through their events, workshops and education Listen Up Music have created a way to have a positive impact through music. We all know mental health is important to look after, Listen Up Music believe music is one of the most powerful ways to do this and we couldn’t agree more.
One of the events Listen Up runs and curates is their Songwriting Prize – a nationwide songwriting competition that invites musicians across Australia to write and submit an original song in response to a mental health theme. This year’s theme is “Songs that heal” and this year Muso will be on a few of the judging panels.
The relationship between Muso and Listen Up Music will be one built out of support for each other’s mission – more live music and healing through music. We have already begun work on a number of initiatives which we’re incredibly excited for.
We couldn’t prouder to be partnering with such a worthy organisation.
